The Jimmy Kimmel Show Halted Indefinitely Due to Presenter's Political Commentator Statements

Broadcast and Government Response

Before the affiliate's action, FCC Chair Brendan Carr had called on affiliates to cease broadcasting the show, cautioning that potential penalties or disciplinary action if they aired content that misrepresented facts.

Carr later thanked Nexstar for taking action and stated that affiliates have a duty to act in the community's benefit.

A company executive described Kimmel’s comments as divisive and untimely amid a critical period in American politics.

Kimmel did not responded on the suspension.

Continuing to give Mr Kimmel a broadcast platform across our markets is simply not in the public interest at the current time.
