NFL Recap: Broncos Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

In a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Denver Broncos clinched a 13-11 victory over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and kicker Wil Lutz kicked the game-winning decisive three-pointer to seal the hard-fought win.

Dominant Display Seals Game

Despite registering nine sacks against Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following conceding a two-point play in the second half. Remarkably, the Jets managed just 82 offensive yards throughout the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's short kick with just over five minutes remaining.

Record Difficulties for Jets Offense

Despite their dismal offensive display, the Jets still had possession with a chance to drive for a possible victory. But Fields was sacked on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it rather than sending out specialist Nick Folk for a difficult field-goal attempt.

Fields had difficulties all game, completing just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets finished with minus-10 passing yards, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," Glenn commented following the contest.
