Helicopter Spirals Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
A chopper soaring over a crowded coastal beach abruptly started spinning wildly, ultimately descending rapidly and plunging into a row of palm groves as spectators watched.
Footage shared on the internet depict the aircraft starting to spin over Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the edge of the beach, where it ends up lodged between palm trees and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Details
Emergency responders reported five people were transported to a medical facility comprising a pair who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the incident on the weekend.
Three persons on the street were harmed. Information on their injuries were not immediately available.
