Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, fiends, and dark forces increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, attacking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the team enter places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them few options but to travel to Timmony in quest for Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to form the Seekers and Schemers parties.
Audiences can look forward to learning which adventurers will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on next week.
